ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2010 -(Day-3)

Third match of the event and again victory for the team who was no where in list of favorites, Afghanistan, again a heroic performance by the team. They beat USA by 29 runs.

Hamid Hassan - whose family fled the bombs of Jalalabad when he was six, and who subsequently learned the game in Peshawar where thousands of his countrymen sought refuge - once again the hero of the match. He concede just 14 runs in four overs and pick 3 wickets.

He compared his country's success against the odds to the iconic boxing movie Rocky. And its a great job and a joyful moment what they have achieve yet.

Afghanistan are now one step closer to reaching the World Twenty20 in West Indies having just missed out on qualification for the 2011 World Cup.

Kenya's fall from Associate powerhouse to also-rans continued with their seven-wicket defeat to Netherlands at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Rocked by Steve Tikolo's first ball dismissal, Kenya never fully recovered and were bowled out two balls short of their allotted overs for 130. Eric Szwarczynski's 45 led Netherlands' reply, and they chased down the target with five balls to spare.

Pieter Seelaar, Netherlands' left-arm spinner, distinguished himself with a tight spell under pressure in the win over Canada, and he performed superbly again to finish with 4 for 19 in his four overs.

On the other hand, Ireland completed a 37-run win to ensure their progress to the Super Fours stage after Scotland collapsed on either side of a threatening partnership between Kyle Coetzer and Gordon Drummond. A team performance with both bat and ball was behind Ireland's victory, as no batsman made more than 19 and the wickets were shared around by the bowlers.

UAE had already qualified to the Super Fours before this match but there was no letting up in their final league game, whipping Canada by 42 runs to send them home winless.

UAE and Afghanistan have 2-2 additional point in their kitty for the super four stage.
